The essential visits to make at Mont Valèrien:
1 . Admire the Moulin des Gibets (118 rue Saint Cloud) : Dating from the 18th century, the Moulin des Gibets is the only surviving mill of the 4 that existed in Nanterre. Long used for the manufacture of flour, it was damaged during the Franco-Prussian war of 1870. Fallen into ruin, it was bought by the City and then restored. Not accessible to the public, it is visible from 141 rue de Saint-Cloud.

2 . Discover the Chenevreux Park (20 Rue des Chenevreux ) : This park is a family and ecological garden including walks, games and gardens. It has the distinction of being labeled " eco-garden " because of the eco-responsible management of the site, the majority of the flora of which is indigenous. But also because it participates in the control and depollution of rainwater by exclusively landscape techniques (filtration basins by plants, flood zone, etc.).

Go around the Departmental Park – Jacques Baumel promenade ( Entrance at the end of rue du Calvaire) : The summit of Mont-Valérien promenade, culminating at 162 m in altitude, has been occupied by a military fort since the 19th century. This park allows you to go around it while enjoying remarkable views of Nanterre, Rueil-Malmaison, Suresnes, Paris and La Défense. On your way, don't hesitate to visit the
Mont Valérien Memorial, a major national memorial site (description below) and the American cemetery.

Visit the Mont Valérien memorial ( Avenue duprofessor Léon Bernard, 92150 Suresnes Nanterre) , This site was used during the Second World War as a place of execution for resistance fighters and hostages by the German army. General De Gaulle decided to transform it into a Memorial to Fighting France, which he inaugurated on June 18, 1960. Open to the public, this High Place of National Remembrance offers free guided tours all year round by reservation.
